Hi, this is Ben Stubbs in this lesson
We're going to be working on the Roomba the Roomba is a flamenco style one of the latter ones that came from the islands the
Caribbean Cuba and so forth got back to the ports
Of Cadiz and was adopted in the form that you would regularly hear [F] in the flamenco style you've heard it before
[Ab]
[Abm]
May an eighth eighth rhythm so what we're going to do here
You'll see in the music below on the first line.
You're going to see a movement
it's going to be indicated with P at the bottom of the treble and
an X a circled X
What this means [Bb] is we're going [A] to have a downward?
stroke with the thumb [G] and [Am] a
Golpe on the face of the guitar
simultaneously like this
again
Now
[Gb] this can be difficult at first, but through practice you'll get it
The Golpe [A] and a downward stroke with the thumb
The [E] strokes going to cover the the bass strings primarily [Am] the a and the D
[Em] Once again same [Am] time with a good be
again
And [E] for a closer look it's going to look like this
At the same time so kind of envision your hand like a crab like a crab's hand the movement that you're going to [A] have
you
The next [N] movement that you'll see in the line is a downward slap
That's done with the index middle and the ring finger or kneel
[Am] Across the portion of the bass strings and the treble strings as indicated below
[G] The next is the mute on the Mudo
And that's going to be indicated by a little squiggly line through the in between the parentheses
You want to make sure that that Mudo is done?
Against the
fretboard make kind of a snare II kind of a sound and
So let's go up to there [A] got the downward stroke with the thumb with the Golpe
[Am] downward slap
[Dbm]
Mudo again
[A] downward with Golpe
[Am] Downward slap and a Mudo the last one is an up down up three notes
with the index finger
Once again, we put those all together we get this
Once again the downward stroke slap
the Mudo
Here [E] we go again all together.
It [Am] sounds like this
[A] later.
We progress with the G
[G]
[F] Once [E]
again
[Am] [G]
So [F] [E] you [Am]
[G] [F] [E]
[Am] [G] [F] [E]
[Am]
don't always have to eventually when you learn the Roomba you won't always
Do it the same way for instance you can do it a little bit open
[A] similar movements
But as you can see [Am] minimal
strokes with the thumb most with the index finger
