This is Jimmy Eat World's Hear You Me.
If you haven't heard it before then you should totally look it up.
So check it out, we start off with the capo on the second fret and we're going to start
off playing a D and this is like the intro and the verse.
So with the D we're going to mute [B] [E]-0-2-3-2. Mute 0-0-2-3-2. And then the next [B] chord after that is going to be an A sus 4 and [F#] [C] we're going to just mute that low E still and [B] it's going to be-2 [B]-2-3-0. And then an A [C#m] sus 2 slash D, we're going to mute 2-0-2-3 [C#]-0. And then we're going to do [A] this G kind of chord but we're going to leave our high E open. So it's going to be 3-2 mute, well 3-2-0 -0-3-0. Teaching you guys some weird chords today. [E] So it's in like a 3-4-6-8 swing. 2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5 [C#]-6, 1-2-3 -4 [A]-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6, [E] 1-2-3-4. There's no one in town [B] I know, you gave us some place to [C#] go. I never said thank you [A] for that, I thought I might get one more [E] chance. So as you can see I'm just going on a down-up-down pattern, or down-up. 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5 [B]-6. And I'm always changing on the 1 of the second pass. [C#] 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4 [A]-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6. [D#m] Okay so just like that, [E] that's the intro, that's the verse. Then we go into the chorus. Now we're going to start off with that D, [B] and then we're going to go to the Asus4, [A] and then a G, a full G, 3-2-0-0-3-3. [E] May [B] angels lead [A] you in, [B] hear you me [A] my friends, [B] on sleepless roads. And this is where it changes a little [C#] bit, the [A] sleepless goes. So we [C#] do that Asus2 with D, in the midpoint [E] of the chorus. Angels [B] lead you [A] in, [B] hear you me [A] my friends, [B] on sleepless roads. [C#m] The sleepless goes, [F#] may [B] angels lead [A] you in. And [E] then back, piano. [B] [C#]
[A] [F#] Alright so check it out, so now you've got those verses, you've got the chorus. There's only one more part that you have to [C#m] learn. And that's that little breakdown that they do. And we're going to start off with a B minor, this is probably going to be the hardest part. It's going to be mute, 2-4-4-3-2. May angels [C#m] lead you in, [A] may angels lead [C#m] you in. So it's just going to stick it out on that B minor. And then [A] [C#m]
on the second pass. [B] May angels lead you in. They do the Asus4. [C#m] [B] [A] So that's a transitional chord for you guys in that bridge. And so for that strumming [G#m] pattern, just so you know, just so you can get a swing of [G#] things. 1-2-3-4-5-6, 1-2-3-4-5-6. 1-1-2-3-4-1-1-2-3-4-down, down-up-down-up-down, down-up-down-up [G]-down, down-up-down-up-down. And so that should kind of give you a little bit of a better idea to get that [F] strumming pattern. Down-down-up-down-up-down, down-up [N]-down-up-down, down-up-down-up-down.
