Start Jamming...
Hey guys, Party Marty here, Easy Guitar Tunes.
I've got another one [C] of my favorite songs by the band.
It's called The Wait.
Real good tune.
Any situation, [F] any party, any pub, or anywhere you guys happen to be playing,
a lot of people love to sing along to this song.
It's an easy song.
There's only four chords in it, and it's still a great tune by a bunch of great musicians.
Possibly some of the best in the world.
Anyway, I really wanted to get this one on the site, so I hope you guys [G] enjoy it.
The chords of this one are G, B [Bm] minor.
I actually play B minor with three fingers.
I just don't want to confuse you, but that's the shape of B minor.
Either that or you can borrow it.
[C] C.
[D] There's a D there.
[Em] And an E minor.
And it's really just a run from G [G] into E minor, and it goes like this.
[Em] [G] And then it's open down to [C] C.
So again, that would [G] be.
[Em] [C] So again, the [G] chords are G, B minor, [Bm]
[C] C, D, [D] and then the run.
[G] [D]
[Em] [C] And you'll see that right after the chorus.
It [Eb] does sound very good in the song.
Here we go.
Let's give her a try, The Weight [G] by the Bands.
[Bm] [C] [G]
[D]
[G]
I pulled in the [D] mallory, oh, I feel about a half [G]-past day.
I just need some [Bm] place [C] where I can lay [G] my head.
Oh, hey, mister, [Bm] can you tell me [C] where my [G] body's been?
He just [D] grinned and shook my hand.
[C] No, that's all he [G] said.
Take it [C] all, old man.
[G] Take it [C] all for free.
[G] Take it [C] all, old man.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, you put the load [G] right on me.
[Em] [C]
[D] He dug [Bm] my back.
[C] We're looking for a [G] place to hide.
Well, I saw [D] her coming in the [C] devil's walking side [G] to side.
I said, [Bm] hey, come on, [C] come on, let's go [G] downtown.
She said, no, I [D] got to go.
[C] My old friend can't [G] stay too proud.
Take it [C] all, old man.
[G]
Take it [C] all for free.
[G] [E] Take it all, [C] old man.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, you put the load right [G] on me.
[Em] [C] Put the load [G] right on me.
[Em]
[C] [G]
A load down for [Bm] four cents, [C] there's nothing that you [G] can say.
It's [D] just old Luke and [C] Luce waiting on a judgment [G] day.
Well, [Bm] Luke, my friend, [C] what about your [G] Annalee?
She said, do [D] me a favor, son, [C] won't you stay and keep [G] Annalee company?
Take it all, [C] old man.
[G] Take it [C] all for free.
[G]
Take [C] it all, old man.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, you put the load right [G] on me.
[Em] [C] [D]
[G] Raise your chest and [Bm] follow me.
[C] Penny caught me in [G] the fall.
He said, [D] I will fish and rack [C] if you take Jack [G] for doll.
I said, wait [D] a minute, Chester, [C] you know I'm a [G] peaceful man.
He said, [Bm] that's okay, boy, [C] won't you feed him when [G] you can?
Take it all, [C] old man.
[G] Take it [C] all for free.
[G] Take it [Em] all, [C] old man.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, you put the load right [G] on me.

[Em] [C]
[G] Get your [D] cannonball out and take me down [G] to line.
My [Bm] baby's singing, Lord, [C]
and I do believe [G] it's time to give back [D] to Miss Van.
[C] You know she's the [G] only one who sends [D] me here with [C] her regards for [G] everyone.
Oh, take it all, [C] old man.
[G]
