How to Play Heart of Gold - Neil Young (cover with Harmonica) - Easy 5 Chord Tune chords
Start Jamming...
[N] Hey guys, Barty Barty here, Easy Guitar [Db] Tunes.
I've got another request by a few of my [Ab] subscribers there
[Eb] from one of my favorite [F] Canadian music [G] artists, [Eb] Neil Young.
It's called Heart of [Bb] Gold.
Really,
really [F] good tune to [A] play.
I actually [Gb] use a harmonica [E] with this song [Eb] as well, so I [Gb] hope you
guys [Gm] enjoy this one.
I'll get into the harmonica a [Bb] little bit with you.
[Db] I'll put a separate video
[G] up for the [Ab] harmonica as well as the [Gb] tab on the video, so I hope you guys can, if you ever decide
you want to do that, maybe it'll help you along.
So anyway, it's a pretty simple song actually.
The chords are [Em] E minor.
I add a 7th, so that would be [G] the baby [Em] finger on the second string from the
bottom in the third fret.
[C] There's a C, [D] there's a D, [G] a G, [Em] there's an E minor, and a 7th.
[C]
[D]
[G]
You'll also
[Em] see me hit that open E on the E minor, just gives it a little bit of color.
[Ab] So it's kind of a slow
[Em] strumming
[D] [Em]
[D]
[Em]
[D]
[Em] when you go through the chords.
[C]
[D] [G]
[Em]
[C] [D]
[G] So a [Eb] little more advanced, that's how we can [Dbm] strum
through it.
For all intents and purposes, [Bb] that's what we're going to [Eb] do for this song,
but if you [Db] want it to go the next step, it's [Bb] kind of something [Em] like this.
[D] [Em]
[D] [Em]
[G]
[A]
So [Em]
[D]
[Em] you always stay in your [D] E, but you're, you kind [A] of off, [E] hammer on, [A] and then like that,
that's the second string from the top.
So you're off and then hammer [E] on, and then your third [D] string
from the top, hammer on, [E]
and then [A] second string again, and [Em] then top open.
[E] [G]
[D]
[E]
[Em] [D] Totally optional,
[Em]
[D] [Em] or you can just go to just the [D] open E.
[Em] Totally [Eb] up to you.
So as you get comfortable with the open E,
[D] maybe you can [Gb] come back and do that run.
[A] So anyway, here we go, Heart of Gold,
Kneely.
[Eb] I hope you guys enjoy this one.
Oh, I gotta get [G] my harmonica on, sorry.
[N]
[Eb] [Em]
There we go, ready?
[D] [Em]

[Em] Keeps me searching for [D] a heart [Em] of gold.
Keeps me searching [D] and I'm [Em] growing old.
Keeps me searching for [D] a heart [Em] of gold.
I've been a martyr for [G] a heart of gold, [C] and I'm getting old.

There you go, Kneely on Heart of Gold.
That is a [G] really, really, really popular tune.
[B] Really great tune.
It goes really [Eb] good with the acoustic guitar and the harp.
[Gb] That's a G
harp by the way.
So I [Eb] hope you guys were, I hope you guys liked that one.
Again, if you have any
[Db] questions or comments, definitely [C] let me know.
If you like [A] what you see, add a [Ab] like, and get over to
my channel.
I got all kinds of great things going on there.
So [D] hope you guys enjoyed that one.
I
hope to see [Dbm] you soon.
Come back [Eb] next Thursday when I put a new tune out from Easy Guitar Tunes by
Priority Marty on YouTube.
You guys take care.
We'll see you again.
