[N] Hey guys, Party Marty here, Easy Guitar [B] Tunes.
I've got another really cool tune to [F#] play at a party or anywhere you're playing.
It's a real fun tune to play by Chuck Berry.
It's [A#] called C'est La [Bm] Vie or You Never Can Tell.
It was the song that was pulled out [G] of_
I kind of got the idea from the movie Pulp [A#m] Fiction.
_ [F#] _
However, I've seen this song played so many different [D] ways.
I don't really [G] know the right way.
[D] So I've [F#] chosen this way.
I [D] capo it off in the second and I [B] play it out of angle.
So it's [A#] actually played out of DG, I guess.
[B] Anyway, for [D] this video, we're going to [B] use A and [F#] we're going to use E.
_ _ _ And [B] in the A, you'll [Bm] see me now and then just put my baby [B] finger on the bottom string in
_ _ [Bm] the third [B] fret after the capo and that'll be on the way [F#] to the E.
And sometimes you'll see me put [A#] my baby finger on the second string from the bottom in the [F#] third fret
after the capo, going back to [B] A.
So that's all that is.
A, baby finger, bottom string, third fret. _ _
And [F#] E, _ baby finger, second from the bottom, third fret.
_ _ Sometimes I use [A#] it, sometimes I don't.
I just want to explain it if I do.
So _ basically, pretty easy.
It's kind of an up and [B] down kind of a rhythmic strum.
_ _ I also add a slap strum.
_ You don't [A#] have to do that.
I do to give it a little [F#] bit of rhythm.
There is a link to [G#] my slap strum video in the info if you want to get a [F#] closer look,
as well as a link for the chord [F] help if you need some help with the chords.
[G] But for _ [B] _ explanation purposes, _ _ _ it's_ _
_ _ _ _ _ All I'm doing is going up and down in a rhythmic strum.
_ _ Now you see me kind of pulling off.
_ All that is, is kind of just a little rhythm trick on the chord
hand.
_ So every fourth beat, you're kind of pulling off and then going right back on.
And it kind of gives it that bluesy sound.
_ And then I add the slap strum as well.
So it's like this. _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ Every fourth beat, you're just stopping with your palm. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ Now, both of those tricks are [A#] totally optional.
[B] You can just strum through the chords if you want. _ _ _ _ _ _
You'll get the right rhythm and you can definitely sing along.
You get a little better.
You can start adding things, right? _ _ _ _
_ [D] So [B] practice that rhythm, practice those two chords, and then join us for the song.
This is [F#] called C'est La Vie, or You Never [G] Can Tell by Chuck Berry. Excuse [B] me. _

_ _ _ _ _ The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger [F#] ale
_ _ _ _ And when Pierre found work, the little money coming worked out well
_ _ _ _ _ C'est la vie, say to your folks, they're going to show you never [B]
can tell
_ _ _ _ They had a high-five for one boy, and they let it blast
_ _ _ _ _ Seven hundred little rentals all rocking, rolling, and jamming
[F#] _ _ _ _ _ But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell
_ _ _ _ _ C'est la vie, say to your folks, they're going to show you never [B] can tell
_ _ _ _ They bought a souped-up Chevy, Jerry Red 53 _
_ _ _ _ _ They went to cruise on down the coast to celebrate their anniversary _
[F#] _ _ _ _ _ And to say when Pierre truly fell in love with mademoiselle
