Hey guys, Priority Marty here, Easy Guitar Tunes.
I've got another great tune to play by a really cool artist back in the day, Dr.
Hook.
Cover of Rolling Stone.
It's been requested a bunch of times by friends and subscribers, so I figured I'd put this one up now for you guys.
Hope you guys enjoy it.
The best part about this tune is it's a great priority tune.
Works great in any situation.
[A] And it's also only three chords.
The chords are A, [E] E, sometimes you'll see me put the baby [Eb] down on the [B] second string in the third fret from the bottom.
[E]
Kind of a seventh.
Makes it sound a little better, more bluesy.
[D] And D.
[A] Again, A, [E] E, add the seventh to the E, and [D] D.
Now when I play [Db] these chords, I pluck the [A] top string of every chord.
So in the A would be the second string from the top.
Kind of give it a bit of a country feel.
I'll do that slow as I'm plucking.
Kind of the way they play it, right?
E [E] is the same string, second from the top.
[D] D is the fourth string from the bottom.
Kind of trying to play it slow as I go along.
Try again, we'll go through the [A] A.
Second string from the top,
[E]
E, then [D] D.
Fourth string from the bottom.
[A]
So practice that strum.
You [Ab] don't necessarily have to do the pluck [Abm] [N] there of the string while you're playing the chords.
Just get used to the chords first and then add that.
It does add a little bit of color to the song.
So I hope you guys practice that for a little bit and then join us for the tune.
Here we go, we're going to cover Rolling Stone, [Gb] Dr.
Hook.
I hope you guys [A] like this one.
We were big rock singers, we had golden fingers.
Every little thing, [E] everywhere we'd go.
We sing about beauty and we sing about truth at $10,000 [A] a show.
We take all kinds of pills that give us all kinds of thrills.
The thrill we've [D] never known.
[E] It's a thrill that'll get you when you get your picture on the cover of a Rolling [A] Stone.
Rolling [D] [E] Stone, wanna see my picture on the cover.
[A] Stone, wanna buy five copies for my [E] mother.
Stone, wanna see my smiling face [D] on the cover [G] of a Rolling [A] Stone.
I got a freaky little lady named Cocaine Katie, blue embroidered on [E] my jeans.
I got my dear old Granny Daddy, driving my [A] limousines.
Now it's all decided to blow our minds, but our minds won't truly [D] be blown.
[E] Like the blow that'll get you when you get your picture on the cover of a [A] Rolling Stone.
[E] Rolling Stone, wanna see my picture on the cover.
[A] Stone, wanna buy five copies for my mother.
[E] Stone, wanna see my smiling [D] face on the cover of a [A] Rolling Stone.
We got a lot of teenage blue eyes groupies who'll do anything we [E] say.
We got a genuine Indian guru teaching us a better [A] way.
Now it's all in line to blow our minds, but our minds won't truly [D] be blown.
[E] Like the blow that'll get you when you get your picture on the cover of a [A] Rolling Stone.
[E] Rolling Stone, wanna see my picture on the [A] cover.
Stone, wanna buy ten copies for my mother.
[E] Stone, wanna see my smiling face [D] on the cover of a [A] Rolling Stone.
[E] Rolling Stone, wanna see my picture on the cover.
[A] Stone, wanna buy five copies for my [E] mother.
Stone, wanna see my smiling [D] face on the cover of a Rolling [A] Stone.
On [D] the cover of a Rolling [A] Stone.
[D] On the cover of a [A] Rolling Stone.
[N] Dr.
Hook, cover of a Rolling Stone.
Gets a little high there for me, but I try my best.
