[Em] Hey guys, I got a really cool lick for [Ab] you.
So this is a lick I heard, I think it was Tyrone Jackson play on Facebook and he was
doing it really fast.
He did it in a shout.
So as I was practicing and I was trying to transcribe it and work it up, I was trying
to build my speed up and I felt really cool as a groove [Gm] so I decided to kind of play along
with it as like a quartet drive.
So that's what I'm going to show you.
I'm going to break it down to you.
But first, I'm going to play that clip for you.
[D]
[Bb] [C]
[Bb] [Cm]
[C] [E] [G]
Amazing.
So yeah, I'm not going to front like I'm that fast yet.
So I'm still building my way up to [C] that speed.
But it sounds pretty cool as a quartet groove.
So here it goes.
So here we go.
[A] [C] [D]
[F] [A]
[C] So we're just going from that C to the L.
[F] [N]
[C] [A]
[C] [D] [F]
[A]
[E] Alright, so here's that main little lick I'm doing.
[Bb] [E]
[F] [E]
Alright, so I think of this [Eb] as that first [C] C, the first inversion.
So we're going to have that E in the bass.
That's the first shape.
[E] So we're going to spell that out.
We're going to slide up to that [D] 7th fret on the A string.
[E] [C]
On the 5th [D] fret.
[C]
So [E] we're playing that C, first inversion.
Then we're going to go to A, [Bb] B flat.
And so just like we did that C, we're going to slide into it.
[D] So we have.
[C]
[A] [Bb] [F]
[E] And now we're going to go into
We're going to [Em] play a [C] C7.
[D] [Em] And we're going to add the 9 to it.
But we're going to leave that C out, so we're going to do that first inversion.
[E]
So just like we slid into those other [D] chords, [G] [Bb] [Db] now
[E]
[C] [Bb] [E]
we're on the [F] 4th.
So we're [Gb] doing a hammer-on from that [C] C.
We're going
[F] to [Em] [F]
[Eb] leave that pinky [C] out.
[F]
[E] [G]
So I'm going to move in thirds.
[E]
So [Am]
[Cm] [E] we're spelling [G] out that F7.
[Am]
[E] And then we'll do it again.
And then we'll do it again.
[Em] [Bb] [E]
[F] [Em] The second time I [F] do a little
[Cm] [C] F9.
[A]
[Ab] [A]
Or you can do [C] it this way.
[F] [Cm]
[G]
And in time it sounds like this.
[Bb]
[E]
[Em] [Bb]
[E] [F]

[A] of a hammer-on.
[C]
[Bb] [Gm] [F]
[Cm] [C]
[Bb] [G] [Dm]
And then [C] I'm going to add a little bit of a hammer [A]-on.

little bit of a hammer-on.

Then we're going to go to A, [Bb] B flat. _ _ _
_ _ And so just like we did that C, we're going to slide into it. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [D] So we have.
[C] _ _ _
_ [A] _ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _ [F]
[E] And now we're going to go _ _ into_ _
_ We're going to [Em] play a [C] C7. _
_ _ _ [D] _ _ _ [Em] And we're going to add the 9 to it. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ But we're going to leave that C out, so we're going to do that first inversion.
_ _ _ _ [E] _ _ _
_ _ So just like we slid into those other [D] chords, _ [G] _ _ [Bb] _ [Db] now _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [C] _ _ [Bb] _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ _ we're on the _ [F] 4th.
_ So we're [Gb] doing a hammer-on from that [C] C.
_ _ _ We're going _
_ [F] _ to _ [Em] _ _ [F] _
_ [Eb] leave that pinky [C] out.
_ [F] _ _
_ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _ [G] _
_ So I'm going to move in thirds.
_ [E] _
So _ _ _ _ [Am] _ _ _
[Cm] _ _ _ _ _ [E] we're spelling [G] out that F7.
_ _ _ _ _ [Am] _
_ [E] _ _ _ And then we'll do it again.

_ [Em] _ _ [Bb] _ _ [E] _ _ _
_ [F] _ _ [Em] The second time I [F] do a little _
[Cm] _ _ [C] F9.
_ _ [A] _ _

_ _ _ _ _ [G] _ _ _

_ _ [Bb] _
